True, Dave, but he will only dismiss the lack of deaths as it not being God's will anyway, so why not have fun?

They had this on the daily show the other day, hilarious. John Stewart said that some might wonder why god wasn't there to just stop the ruling, then explained that it was because he was answering a kids prayer for a nintendo gamecube .

This is utterly pathetic, no matter what happens, or WHEN, you can bet he'll still give the credit to "prayer". Here's an example of this kind of "thinking".

On http://www.raycomfort.com somewhere, he tells a story of Mussolini daring god to strike him down, and nothing happens. That convinces Mussolini that there is no god, but of course, "god answered his prayer later" Comfort said. The obvious problems are: Mussolini was going to die eventually anyway! There's no discernable difference here between "god answering prayer" and " nature just taking it's course without god"! If something is going to happen inevitably anyway whether you pray or not then how can you call it "an answer to prayer" when it does happen?! If Mussolini had never prayed that, he'd STILL have died later!

What Comfort refuses to acknowledge (besides the above problem) is that it's obvious Mussolini wanted evidence of god's existence, through something that would NOT happen UNLESS god existed and MADE it happen! Hence, the "striking me down right here and now" thing!

When something inevitably does happen to those judges, that's what Robertson will do.

**Unfortunately, this kind of thinking isn't restricted to them..there's a character on the "Rapture Ready" board who has in her sig line:

"P.U.S.H"--Pray Until Something Happens! So no matter how long it takes, if something was going to happen anyway, "god" gets the glory! Talk about "covering your ass"! (or covering all bets!)

Out of curiosity as a non-American: what exactly is his personal beef with these judges?

They have upheld the Roe vs. Wade decision, which held that the US Constitution implies a right to privacy that prevents the government from banning abortion. They also keep upholding that pesky establishment clause of the first amendment, which Robertson opposes because he wants the US to have an official established religion (his). And just recently they said the government couldn't make private sex acts between consenting adults illegal.

It's day nine now and everyone's still OK.

A man was struck by lightning last night, however, so God is still practicing his aim. Watch out judges!

For those not familiar with the legal points in this post, the layman's translation would be that they are liberal sodomites who routinely sacrifice babies to Satan and they also want to kill God.

If there was any just or kind god, it would strike down all those participating in the pray-a-thon.

I have a question. How well protected are the supreme court judges? You never know when one of Pat's followers might take it upon himself to "speed up" the "retirement" of one of them.

Well, it's been seventeen days now and all the positive energy and love Pat and his friends have been sending out hasn't managed to kill anyone.

Of course, there are four days left and it may be that God is just waiting until the very end before smiting anybody. That both adds to the drama and it lets him make sure that people don't stop praying two weeks into it after He's already done the work.

I checked out Pat's and CBN's websites, but they're not giving any updates about how it's coming along. Perhaps they're losing faith that anything will happen and want everyone to forget that they had this going on.
