Boro Nut dozes happily in the shade on the riverbank, his lines slack in the water. Flitting images of Michael Jackson and handicapped children dart unbidden through his mind. Then something stirs him. What's this? His line goes taut! Boro Nut leaps into action, reeling and teasing his catch, toying with the denizen from the deep.

He seems oddly unmotivated, though. It seems he isn't so hungry that he needs the food. His demeanor is more like that of a cat toying with a mouse, knowing it will be served Fancy Feast on a saucer at dinner....

Interesting thing you just pointed out, Magus. We do (presumably) have prophesy of Jesus return, don't we? But Jesus himself said no one knows the day or the hour the bridegroom cometh...didn't he?

If prophesy isn't tracable to a specific time, I daresay it's little more than a wild guess, wouldn't you agree?

But if it is tracable, then we would know the exact day and hour of Jesus return, I'll warrant.

Thanks for pointing out a biblical contradiction I'd not yet noticed.

The nice thing about "when will the world end?" debates is that one simply has to wait and see. I BOLDLY PREDICT that the world will not end in the next 50 years. My basis for this prediction is quite prosaic -- the world hasn't ended yet; it doesn't seem likely to do so in a hurry. Let's wait and see.

Incidentally, how do we define "the end of the world" anyway? Does the planet Earth actually have to be destroyed? Will a full scale nuclear war suffice? Suppose a disease came along and eradicated all humans from the face of the planet. Would this really be "the end of the world" even if all the other species were still managing quite nicely? (Of course, there would be no one left to verify that the planet was still around.)

My mom, the TRUE Chrisitan sometimes says she is going to die and go directly to sit at the right hand side of the lord. Other times she talks about Judgment day (or that rapture crap).

I asked her where she is going to go immediately after death since she keeps saying different stories. Her brilliant answer was,

"I don't know all the details" as she stomped out of the house. ROFL

The fighting over Israel is to fulfill this prophesy.

Those who fight for Israel are the antichrist.

The second coming of Christ will never be for the anti-christ.

The prophecy leads up to to the ushering in of the Antichrist and Revelation. The rapture ( ascension of all believers to Heaven at Jesus' second coming) has no requirement for when it is to happen. So no its not a contradiction - Jesus could come tomorrow, or 15 years from now. His second coming is completely unknown to us. But the ultimate prophecy to be fulfilled is the restoration of Israel. That doesn't happen until after the rapture in which case the Antichrist will have already decieved many into thinking hes the one who made peace in the middle east and will restore Israel.

Bottom line is - the events currently in the world are leading to the ushering in of the Antichrist - but no prophecy has to be fulfilled in order for Jesus to return.

If you remain an unbeliever and don't repent you go to hell when you die awaiting Judgement ( same if you survive all 7 years of the Tribulation) - after you are judged you are thrown into the Lake of Fire for eternity. As long as you are alive, you still can be saved if you have sincere faith in Jesus and ask for his forgiveness.
If you want to be taken seriously here you're going to have to stay off the drugs.

Didn't expect you to believe it - Atheists throw away anything that is beyond their comprehension. But when it does actually happen you'll wish you had heeded the warnings.

And you'll be on your knees begging for mercy when the Invisible Pink Unicorn returns and unleashes Her pink wrath on heathens like you.
