Here's the write-up from the Canton Repository, complete with a full color photo of Adams County sheriff's deputies hauling off one of the mar . . . er, protestors. Articles such as this invariably contain at least one statement that honks me off to no end. Here, the statement goes like this:

Quote:
“We have to make the decision in America if there’s going to be local control of what we’re going to teach our children,” said Dave Daubenmire, among those protesting at Peebles High. “Is it going to be the people here in the community, or some judge in a courtroom in Washington? The people of Adams County have spoken.”
Okay, let's set aside the fact that the magistrate judge who issued the ruling sits in Cincinnati, not Washington. It's worth noting that, in this context, at least, the term "local control" most always translates to something like, "Constitutional constraints be damned; public schools MUST become institutions of religious instruction if lots of us nutburgers show up and yell loudly enough."

Dave Daubenmire is the former coach of London (OH) HS football team.

He was sued by the ACLU for leading his team in prayer.

I think he promised to stop and then he did it again. The school board was threatening to fire him and he retired/resigned.

He's now on the local xtian radio station spewing this kind of drivel 6 or 7 days a week.

He founded Pass The Salt ministries after he quit coaching.

Wow this guy's like, totally incoherent.

Don't blame bin Laden, blame the lazy Christian. Humpty Dumpty's chicken has come home to roost.

they had a little segment about it with ellen johnson on fox news. i wish she would avoid talking about "well what about the other commandments etc." and just focus on things like the lemon law. it's really not relevant to the discussion.

also the host called them a "universal standard of morality". nice objectivity there

Looking for objectivity on Fox News is like looking for:

1. Water in the Sahara Desert.

2. Atheists at a Southern Baptist convention.

3. ???

Note to self: Show up to a PETA meeting while eating a bacon cheeseburger

Now, what was I going to say?

Oh, yeah, that stupid ex-coach. From the article hezekiah jones linked to:
"Don’t blame Bin Laden, or Islam, or Saddam Hussein. They were committed to their cause. How many Christians do you know who would knowingly crash a plane for the cause of Christ, knowing they would perish in the act? Point the finger directly at the lukewarm, lazy, uncommitted Christians, selling their birthright for bigger home, SUV, and more prosperous lifestyle. "It’s the economy stupid." They told us and we ignored God’s warning "You reap what you sow" The chickens have come home to roost. "

I agree. If you sow religious fundamentalism, and hatred, you sow, guess what, hatred and religious fundamentalism.
Amazing how that works.
I find it amusing how oblivious what's-his-face is to the implications of what he says are.

I like Fox News. I find it much better than that garbage at CNN.

Looking for a Liberal Bias at CNN is like Looking for water in the Ocean, it is ever where you look.

And of course when you look at Fox News you don't see any conservative bias, do you? I mean they say they're fair and balanced and a good conservative like you thinks their word is good enough, right?

I'm sure we can all count on FOx News to give us both sides of the story and present the liberal side of the issue in a fair and even-handed manner.

Don't get me started on Fox..... And MSNBC is toppling to the right as well.....

Fox News: We distort, WE decide.
Fairly Unbalanced.

O'Reilly: The "Shut Up!" Zone

Hannity and ... some unassertive, ineffectual guy who's supposed to be liberal...
