If anyone can find them, I'd be especially grateful as well. However, I've done quite a lot of searching and asking myself. I am surprised, but there seems not to be an English translation of the entire Mishna or either Talmud online, though you can buy a couple of different versions on CD (very expensive) from Davka (and possibly elsewhere, but I was referred there). The Mishna, TaNaKh, Tosefta, Babylonian and Jerusalem Talmuds are online at "snunit" in the original Hebrew, though, if you can read them and are interested. The rest I have not been able to find either, though it's possible I may not have searched long or hard enough. Let us know if you find them! I found these two for Psalms of Solomon
http://wesley.nnu.edu/noncanon/ot/pseudo/psalms-solomon.htm http://www.carm.org/lost/solomonpsalms.htm and this site might have some info on Mishna: http://www.jerusalembooks.com/dbs_cont.htm Don't know if they are any help, but I couldn't find much else. |

We're doing pretty well here. I've got one out of six, which is a hellovalot better than none out of six. Plus there was a Jewish tractate known as Pirke Abot at Wesley which is useful to understand the history of the Pharisees and their thoughts. You'll get some low-down on a few famous rabbis from it.
I've even left a question at AskARabbi to see if I can stimulate a few more Jewish books being put on the web -- but I won't hold my breath on that one. (Psalms of Solomon contains historical information from between 63 BCE and 48 BCE when Pompey the Great was killed in Egypt. Pompey was responsible for a siege of the Jerusalem temple in 63 BCE. It has a religious position which is close to the Pharisees and condemns the Hasmoneans and the religious leaders of their time.) [ April 11, 2002: Message edited by: spin ]
|
