Religious observance vs Superbowl
Pastor who called service at Super Bowl kickoff sacked
Rev. Stanley B. Hall Sr. ordered all deacons and trustees of his church to attend a consecration service that started at kickoff time on Super Bowl Sunday, Jan. 26. When three deacons and three trustees didn't show up, he dismissed them. The members of the church then voted 67-10 to oust Hall. Litigation is pending. Quote:

Why exactly is a County Judge deciding the outcome of church governance?
I didn't know that you could have a restraining order placed on ecclesiastical elections/votes? --tibac |

I'd sack the moron too. The biggest game of the most popular sport in America and this douchebag wants people in church? Not only should he be fired, he should be deported. What an asshole.

I'd pick the Super Bowl, too. Besides, the game is usually on Sunday night! Have your services or whatever earlier in the day! |

The Court will still rule to determine whether or not the result of the church's votes will be legally binding. And the Rev still applied for a restraining order against the congregation's vote. What's with that?
