If you feel so inclined, go here.
The evolution/creation forums have recently reopened to everyone at Baptisboard.com. Play nice.

What do you mean "to everyone?" The E/C forums are still in the Christian Only section. Not to mention the fact that BaptistBoard only allows Baptists to register.

I'm guessing that forum isn't really for debate, just a way to root out people they need to ban.

Oops, my apologies. I thought the creation/evolution debate forum was for everyone. You don't need to be a Baptist to register however, just a "Christian"
In any case there are several competent theistic evolutionists there. I think as far as debate goes it's a pretty open forum. The YEC's are spanked regularly so I'd say that's a start in the right direction. |

quick query: is it only the baptists who believe in a young earth? the reason i ask is a friend of mine recently put forward the view that he felt no pity for 'the jews' murdered in WWII because they ignored God (quoting Duetoronomy and something else). i quickly ridiculed him, saying soon he would be trying to convince me that the earth was less than ten thousand years old and that God left dinosaur fossils here to test our faith. he rather angrily replied that i was thinking of baptists and i should get my religion right.
now i know arguing with someone who holds the above opinion is probably pointless :banghead: but i'd like to know if he is correct. so: do only baptists believe in a young earth? or does the term fundamentalist christian refer to any christian sect who reads the bible literally? (baptists? anglicans? catholics? protestants? if christians can't even agree on one faith, why should nonbelievers listen to them? that's what always gets me. if christians want to convert the rest of humanity, they'll need to put on a more united front than the one they've got.) |

There are as many varieties of Baptists as there are of any other denomination. I think the only real commonality between all Baptists is a belief in Baptism by immersion in water.Fundamentalists however are typically extreme conservative Baptists.

Actually, some of the poster's on the BB are the best evidence against Darwin...I mean, how could natural selection have favored genes that would produce people of such obvious mental defects? I mean, are these really the "fittest"? |
