Bullets bounce harmlessly off Superman's chest, yet he still ducks when the bad guy chunks the empty gun at him. And he's fiction, just like Magus' Supermangod. |

Now you know how I and many others feel about Christianity, particularly the Fundamental kind. Magus replied: Hmm lets see. Jesus - Love thy neighbor, turn the other cheek, offers eternal life. For some reason, in this post you left off the eternal suffering in hell bit that Jesus also offers, though it's implied. And note how that doctrine contradicts Jesus' teaching of "Love thy neighbor, turn the other cheek." Mohammed - have multiple wives, even younger than 10, beat women, kill anyone who opposes you, participate in Jihad so you can go spend eternity in a paradise of sex slaves if Allah likes you enough. Yes, Jesus apparently doesn't want his followers to go around killing those who "oppose" them, but history shows that they're as capable of that as followers of Islam. Jesus apparently reserves that right to himself, or to his daddy, along with the right to torture his opponents for eternity, even if those who oppose him include women and children. I don't really see much of a moral distinction. And you are scared of Christianity, why? I'm scared of Fundamental Christianity for "fundamentally" the same reasons you're scared of Islam. Its adherents too often want to impose their beliefs on others by any means possible. Note that in my original post I said I was "scared of Christianity, esp. fundamental Christianity." The only reason I said that instead of just fundamental Christianity is that you addressed your fear to Islam in general, and I was echoing that. Just like there is no need for me to fear all Christians, there is no need for you to fear all Moslems. It's typically only the fundamentalist ones we need fear. |

1)Who got raptured, Magus55? 2)Did the Jews, Muslims and Zoroastrians get raptured? 3) Is getting raptured a "good thing"? 4)Do you need to embrace the Holy Spirit before getting raptured? 5)Who will get raptured first, the Unitarian Christians or the Trinitarian Christians? 6)Can someone get raptured even if they dont believe in getting raptured? 7) Is it better to get raptured before or after Judgement Day? sorry for so many questions...but this topic is not clear to me.... |

This is why many Christians claim they have been empowered by Holy Spirit. They claim it is not enough to just believe in God and Christ, as the demons believe and shudder. Matthew 15:8: These people draw near me with their mouth, honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Holy Spirit changes the heart, because Christ describes the heart in 15:19: For out of the heart proceeds evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornifications, thefts, false witnesses, blasphemies. There would be no need for Gabriel to tend to this task, all that is needed is a state of acceptance of the new covenant of love with Christ. The concept of Holy Spirit provides this connection. |
