Post Letters on point: god in politics

<a href="http://www.bakersfield.com/opinion/story/1793692p-1909468c.html" target="_blank">Letters on point.</a>

This appeared today in the newspaper. I especially dislike this part:

Quote:
Keep God out of politics! It is obvious that they don't know God. That would be like "keeping rain out of water." It's all the same. Anything that has to do with the affairs of man, God is part of it. God set up world powers. He ordained that there would be only four world powers -- Babylon, the Meads and Persians, Greece and Rome. There have been other nations that have tried to become the fifth world power. Those nations were Germany, Japan and France -- even the United States, she has had her Waterloo.

At least there was one letter with a good quote from Thomas Jefferson. But the other two were pretty incoherent.

Can't hardly disagree with that. For all intents and purposes, religion is political--bas politics, but political nonetheless. Get a bunch of people to buy into your crazy thoughts, and you control them for life.
