Clementine Recognitions?
What's a good (online or hard copy) source to read more about this topic? I have found
http://www.ccel.org/fathers2/ANF-08/....htm#TopOfPage http://bible.crosswalk.com/History/A...ineLiterature/ Peter doesn't seem to have a section on the Recognitions in his www.earlychristianwritings.com , although there are scattered references to them in other sections. Is this because they are not early enough or not Christian enough? |

Not early enough. The place for any discussion of the Pseudo-Clementines is in the section on the Kerygmata Petrou, which is a reconstructed source typically dated c. 200 CE.
I would suggest starting your research on the Pseudo-Clementines with the two-volume New Testament Apocrypha, since you will want to own it for a dozen other reasons besides. best, Peter Kirby |
