Some responses to my original post are indicative of those expected from the attendees of a christian baptism observing the administrator that has a change of intellect and dispenses thusly. The parenthetical inclusions were for comparison.

Christian Baptism is the symbolic identification of the believer with the death and burial (as the believer goes under the water) and resurrection (as the believer comes up out of the water) of Jesus Christ. Symbolizing the believer's death to their old life of sin and beginning a new life with Christ.

So...what does your suggested secular baptism symbolize?

HelenM,

The esoteric nature of my original post does not merit dilution.
