Default Which communist nation will fall first?

Of course communism has shown historically to be a failed system. The question remains though, we still have two main pure communist nations that refuse to collapse -Cuba and NK. I firmly believe that both will fail in my life time (hopefully before 2040).

China doesn't count (but I will include it in the poll anyway) because it is already trying many capitalist methods, and is slowly opening up to world trade and culture.

I picked Cuba, mainly because of Castro. He is pretty old and when he finally dies I believe there will be a lot of reform. Of course I have no idea about all the issues involved, and its just my personal feeling.

Hmmm. I'm the only one to vote for China, so far.

I voted China, because it is already undergoing change. It won't "fall" as such, just keep changing. In NZ we have many, many Asian students with a large portion of them from China. They will take home with them the exprience of studying in a 'free' country that is not a purely capitalist one, but is based on a kind of social-capitalism. (If that makes sense - I don't know the correct terminology )

I vote Korea, I think we might very well go to war with them.

Why did you leave out Myanmar (Burma) ?

Personally I'd go Burma -> Cuba -> Nth Korea

If China continues following the Singapore model, it could actually prove quite stable at least in the short term. But hardly communist anymore, Mao must be positively spinning in his mausoleum by now (or was he eventually cremated ?).

Partially agreed. I do think there will be trouble when things finally do fall apart over there, though. The PLA has the guns and won't like it when they find themselves unemployed.

North Korea. Although the correct one should be whichever one gets involved in a war with the United States.

I voted for Cuba, Castro is old and he has a failed Marxist system already. It will die with him I believe.

I'm putting my vote in for the U.S., even though it's not communist. If the Shrub keeps pissing the rest of the world off, they're going to react eventually.

North Korea I believe is as determined to start a war as we are with Iraq. Living in Vegas and gambling from afar with other peoples lives with the most unemotionally passing laugh, I'm guessing that North Korea's waiting for us to "be busy" and will make life unpleasent for many with a sudden overnight policy of reunification which will force a confrontation that can only be disasterous for Pyongyang.

I mean, for godsakes, Japan's Defense Minister (and why does a nation with a practically Constitutionally outlawed military have a defense minister, anyways) is calling for a pre-emptive strike against North Korea now by Japan!

North Korea's where the actions at and a lot of problems seem on their way to being resolved a lot sooner than in Cuba or elsewhere.
