Darth, if you want to comment more on an old topic, fine- but just bumping it up with one word like this is frowned upon, OK?
Since it is an interesting and unusual thread, I'll add something I thought about while it was ongoing, but did not have the time to post. In Hindu philosophy/theology, the nature of Brahma/God can be described as sat-chi-ananda. This is usually translated 'being-consciousness-bliss'. The last of these, ananda, has always presented translation difficulties- because our word 'bliss' denotes only strong *positive* emotions, like love. The Sanskrit ananda means something more like agony/ecstasy; it includes strong feelings like hate and pain, which our word bliss does not. (I've always thought it was an attempt to make Brahma and God look more alike than they actually are.) This view of deity means that villification is equally as appropriate a response as is worship, and that darkness and evil are just as much creations of God as is light and love. Both are necessary for the existence of the universe- and of God. |

Yes of course, sorry about that, old habit from another site, where it is ok.
