Talking U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay (R-Tx) trashes the Aggies....

Read all about it right here: <a href="http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/metropolitan/1371848" target="_blank">http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/metropolitan/1371848</a>

A "godly" education, huh? What a jackass. Every time he opens his mouth he brays.

Tom DeLay said something ignorant and bigoted. I am so shocked.

Now we know why Rational Ag turned to evil. It was his politically correct liberal education.

I think he should demand a refund.

I gets better:

<a href="http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/metropolitan/1373540" target="_blank">Claims he was misunderstood</a>

Quote:
DeLay is one of the most ardent cultural and fiscal conservatives in Congress, and has said evolution should not be taught as fact. A Baylor regent who did not wish to be identified said he has supported DeLay politically in the past but would no longer do so.

Baylor spokesman Larry Brumley confirmed DeLay attended the university from 1965 to 1967, but could not divulge further details because of confidentiality laws. According to the Washington Post, DeLay's use of alcohol contributed to his antics at Baylor. He was a pre-med student at Baylor, and in 1970 he earned a degree in biology from the University of Houston.

According to a 1995 article in the New Republic, DeLay was kicked out of Baylor for "dancing and painting buildings green at rival Texas A&M." At the time, Baylor did not allow dancing on campus.

Grella said DeLay openly talks about his previous problems at Baylor.

This came as news to the office of U.S. Rep. Max Sandlin, D-Marshall, who issued a press release saying DeLay was "treated unfairly" by the Chronicle and invited DeLay to tour Baylor and have a chicken fried steak at a popular Waco eatery.

Sandlin's spokeswoman, Danielle Allen, said Sandlin had no idea DeLay was kicked out of Baylor, adding this is not well known in Congress.

The center's former director, William Dembski, was demoted in October 2000 after accusing his critics of engaging in "intellectual McCarthyism," but he continues to research the topic.
Funny, I thought scientific "research" involved data instead of rhetorical "sound and fury signifying nothing"

At Friday's gathering, DeLay said his daughter attended A&M and was appalled to discover that students have sex in dormitories.
Where should they be having sex then? The quad?

It really sad that little True Christian (TM) children have to go off to college and learn about the real world.

My response to a concerned parent has created a misunderstanding. I was giving advice for the specific type of education they were seeking for their child. Let me make it Texas clear: I've been a longtime supporter of Baylor and Texas A&M. My daughter went to A&M and in Congress I've worked hard to help fund these two prestigious universities. I apologize for any misunderstandings my comments may have caused.
If he was any sort of real leader he'd advised the parent to wake up and give their children a good education instead of indoctrination.

Translation:

"My response to a Christian congregation has resulted in a misunderstanding, as it was only intended for that audience. I was trying to be a two-faced politician and some a-hole caught me talking out of both sides of my mouth.

Let me make it clear: I know there are LOTS of Aggies and Baylor Bears out there and I don't want to piss any of them off, because that would entail losing votes and I REALLY want to get re-elected.

I sent my daughter to engage in under-age drinking and pre-marital sex at A&M, and that should be good for most of your kids too. They are prestigious universities with much to offer the youth of America, and all of the things people think is wrong with our youth are just blown out of proportion.

That is, unless your a biblical fundamentalist and you don't agree. If THAT'S the case, we need to make pre-marital sex and drinking of any form illegal. Praise Jebus.

I've worked hard to kiss everyone's ass to further my political career. I'm sorry there has been a misunderstanding and I will try hard in the future to not get caught being a two-faced asshole. Thank you for your votes."

Unfortunately, it's still very conservative. Resurrection week still boasts thousands of mindless Christians running around with the word TRUTH plastered across their chest in 8" tall letters.

I love the school, I just wish it was a bit less religious. Hopefully it's moving a bit more in the right direction, I think it is.
