The identity of Mary?
Hi guys, the identity of Mary had been debates for a long time mainly among the churchs. So, is Mary the wife or mother of Jesus? Or was there two women having the same name, Mary?

I think this must have been intended for Bible Criticism and Archaeology.

Mary became the spouse of Jesus after Coronation in heaven. Mary was all woman and therefore without sin and as such the womb of man (not as in womb with ovaries but as in "flesh of my flesh and bone of my bones). Ps. I should have added that the heart of Mary is equal to the heart of Christ but not until after Coronation (like what a true romance is the image of). [ March 11, 2002: Message edited by: Amos ]</p> |

Simple answer: there is more than one Mary here. One who gave birth to him, and one who supposedly had some relationship with him (Mary Magdalene).

There's was a Mary, mother of Jesus, a Mary sister of Martha, a Mary Magdalene, a Mary mother of James and Joses (Joseph) -- unless one wants to argue that this latter is Mary mother of Jesus, James, Joses, Simon, and Judas; but then she was with Mary Magdalene in Mk 15:47 --, and a Mary wife of Cleophas (even a Mary mother of John Mark). |

Mary Magdale was the [lesser] serpent of the TOK, called Eve in Genesis whose curse was "I will put emnity between you and the woman and between your offspring and hers; She will strike at your head, while you strike at his heel." These two serpents are responsible for the turmoil in our own mind when "woman" strikes at Eve (the serpent) and Eve in turn strikes at our heel to move us along toward a destiny prefigured by "woman" until finally the question emerges "who am I and what is my purpose on earth." The Mary and Martha parable is about this catfight and Magdalene and all the other Mary's and women (Eve's) were responsible for particular apostles (eidetic images) of reality. On this basis the different women at the tomb can be explained. The woman at the well is also a nice parable to have Eve ponder the infinity (living water) of Mary. |
