Post "Mummy" Dino Found

Good news a great dinosaur find has been announced at meeting of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology.

<a href="http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2002/10/1010_021010_dinomummy.html" target="_blank">Read the Story here</a>

Bad news is that the creationists will play there games with it.

What could a creationist do with that? It may have been mummified at one stage, but it's damn well made of rock now.

What could a creationist say about it that hasn't been said about the bony fossils?

How ironic that when I hit the link the main banner advertisement had<a href="http://www.aigonline.com" target="_blank">AIG</a> in big bold letters.

Not joking nor being cute. That was the banner.

More to the point I do think it is a very interesting find and thanks for the link. I had heard about it, but this story was a little better then the earlier CNN one I had seen.

I fear you underestimate the power of fundie imagination. Also their sense of desperation. All they have to see is the fossil called a 'mummy' in any headline of any publication, and they'll be on it like fly maggots on yesterday's fish head. Probably won't even bother to read the text. And if they do read the text, they'll call it an evilutionamtist lie. The thing is a mummy, just like ol' Tut, and we'll hear no more about it!

I haven't checked in a long time, but I think the ICR site might still be carrying articles about un-fossilized dino bones found in Alaska. Pretty amazing!

This proves all kinds of stuff!

Obviously, when the lost tribe of Israel left Egypt and came to North America (just before Jesus showed up and wrote on those gold tablets of the Mormons), they brought with them the Egyptian mummification techniques. Eager to teach it to the natives, they chose a dinosaur.
