What is your opinion of what is in my view almost as detestable as Christianity -- Satanism?

I think that they are rebellious idiots, who will do anything to be the opposite of the norm, of the Christians. If Christians will be "good", they will be "evil". If Christians posit God's existence, the Satanist will negate His existence. If Christians consider Satan bad, the Satanists will think him good. Such idiots do not "reason"; they are just trying to think in a manner contradictory to Christianity, the rebels.

If anyone here is interested in my opinion, this is it:
The Satanists are among the worst of all scum and vermin, equal to Christians and Nazis. The Satanists here (if there be any) will disagree, but if you want me to be honest, that is my honest opinion.

What is your opinion -- your honest opinion -- on that backwards religion called Satanism?

I don't agree with them all being idiots. Some of them are very knowledgeable about the history of religion (especially Christianity).
This is actually what makes me think they are doing this for no other reason than to be different and piss certain people off.
These people KNOW thats it's total bullshit so why else would they do it?
(There are of course a whole bunch of moron kids who claim to be Satanists so it would be correct to say that SOME of them are idiots.)

Well, "Gothic" Satanism - you know, your goat sacrificing , blood drinking, "evil" people; are indeed idiots, as gothic Satanism isn't actually Satanism.

Real Satanists, while professing an admirable doctrine of live and let live and indulgence rather than abstience, can still be idiots bevause many are still quite Anti-Xian (Despite being against some core doctrines).

Like any religion or nontheism, there are always the idiots in the crowd.

From my personal knowledge (somewhat less than universal), many Satanists are atheists; theirs is a philosophical system rather than a religion. Rituals which mock Christianity are often seen as a kind of anti-cult deprogramming, intended to help ex-Christians free themselves of the remnants of their former belief. This was the case with me when I was a Satanist, but I didn't need any rituals like these because I was never much of a Christian. And no, I wasn't a Goth (actually this was somewhat before Goths became popular), and I wouldn't hurt a cat unless it peed on my pillow or something.

And if being Anti-Xian makes one an idiot, well, don't swing a thurible in this board, 'cause you're sure to clobber an idiot!

I wouldn't equate satanists with nazis, since I don't think they're intentionally evil (referring here to the "philosophical" satanists instead of wannabe goth satan worshippers), just pathetic. Seems to me they're just wanting to rebel, even their moral code seems like it's written not with the question "what is good?" in mind but "how can I distinguish myself from those blasted xians?". Attention-seeking children.

Christians, especially fundies, do seem to believe Satan is a lot more powerful than god although they won't admit it. All non-Christians are deceived by Satan. Any Christian denomination whose doctrine is too different from their own has been created by Satan. Any scientific or historical evidence which contradicts that Bable is the result of Satan. Bad things that happen in the world are naturally caused by Satan since god is good and would never do any evil. Some of the crazier Christians go around continously binding Satan and casting Satan out of their homes, cars, furniture, ect. During my later years as a Christian, it bothered me that god seemed to allow Satan a lot more power than he allowed himself. Of course, it's obvious now there is no Satan and the Bable is a load of poop.
