Quick Entomology Question
Does anyone know if there's any species of firefly in North America that emits red-tinted flashes (rather than the usual green-tinted)?

Well, all the ones I've seen around here were greenish, but my friends and I saw some things that I *suspect* to be fireflies which definitely flashed red. We didn't actually observe the bugs themselves, just the color of the flashing, so we're still not sure. I obviously took the time to conclusively rule out the easier explanations like some sort of man-made phenomena (like a laser pointer, or the reflection from a traffic signal or car break light) before deciding to ask if there were red-blinking fireflies around.
