Fascinating thread. I wish I got around to checking E/C more often ... the few critters i could think to offer have already been posted. Just wanted to make one comment on the OP:

Ladyshea: do you know this site you linked to very well? Are they serious, in your opinion?

The thing that makes me suspicious is this, from their store:

Oh shit...I didn't check it out...Minnesota linked to it on page 2. How sad is it that it sounds plausible from YEC's?

That is downright uncanny!

In a similar category is a South African bird that looks a heck of a lot like the North American redwinged blackbird. It's pretty uncanny also...

Two quick corrections

Both the koala, a marsupial, and the North American pygmy shrew, a placental, have a cloaca.

"The platypus . . . has the . . . distinction of being one of only two venomous mammals.
The other venomous mammal is the short tail shrew."

Like the shrew, the solenodon, an insectivore, also has poisonous saliva.

That crosspot site is parody. I recognized it when I clicked on it. I had saved it into my Favorites sometime ago. There was some thread several months ago in Infidels humor I think, that brought to attention their "Landover Baptist Shutdown" mission.
