Post Any Theist forums?

I've been following with great interest the discussions here in IIDB, but they are ofcourse heavily weighted on the "atheist/agnostic/freethinker" side.
Occasionally a "brave" theist will venture into the discussion, but probably will feel very lonely here.
Any "infidels" know of christian/theist discussion forums that are as lively as this one and where we (infidels) would be in the minority?
I guess a discussion there would be more challenging.

Stray:

That's funny; I was just thinking how amusing it is that there is such an overwhelming number of theists here...

Stray, some of our members regularly post at Christian Forums- will someone provide him a link?

But it's my observation that the conversations there are not allowed to proceed freely- when atheists start winning an argument, the moderation becomes very one-sided...

It used to be that the Baptist Board allowed atheists in some of its forums- but they have simply banned all atheists, several months ago.

In short, I am unaware of any boards where equal numbers of theists and atheists are allowed to square off fairly- we try to attract reasonable theists here, and even the unreasonable ones are tolerated in Rants&Raves until they start screaming and threatening us with their crosses.

I found a site that you might try.

<a href="http://www.faithforum.org/" target="_blank">Faith Forum</a>

In the Christian Challenge section, they state:
Quote:
In this forum we welcome:

- Christians interested in ministry to unbelievers.
- Non-Christians interested in productive debate concerning the merits of Christianity.
I'm not sure you'll like it. Pretty much fish-in-barrel relative to this forum...

Have you not studied the Arnal Book of Kings of Israel? Come on it's one of the first places to start a study on church history. Let me enlighten you alittle here. This book was sent to the Roman Catholic church around 40 A.D before the fall of the temple in 70 A.D. Confirming that 500 people saw Christ alive after he died. The starnge thing is the Bible has the same figure. 500 people saw him.
Heck, I could tackle that one and I'm no biblical scholar.

You might also try C.A.R.M's discussion boards. That was where I cut my teeth, so to speak. Not a bad area, the moderation does get one-sided IMHO. Some of the boards are rather boring and slow moving. you can find it here:
<a href="http://www.carm.org/boards.htm" target="_blank">CARM Discussion Boards</a>

I would just recommend being very aware of the board rules. Most of the moderators are pretty fair, but when submitting to the imposition of their rules, it is important to know where the lines are drawn, IMHO.

Yours,

Garth

I am sure some of you remember MetaCrock, who used to post here. He ocassionally lost his temper, but overall is a really nice guy - an a theist.

His<a href="http://pub18.ezboard.com/bhavetheologywillargue" target="_blank">Discussion Board</a> has some good debates, and is more populated my theists. The only down side is that it is the crappy Bulletin Board software where the most recent replies do not climb to the top of the list.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone,

Will try my luck in those more "unchartered" (for me at least) waters and see if I can sharpen my debating skills.

Here are a few popular Christian forums I've got in my bookmarks that haven't been mentioned yet. They're all based on good forum software, usually VBulletin:

* <a href="http://www.rr-bb.com/index.php?s=3898106c642e7c39450f645fd8df6216" target="_blank">RaptureReady Message Board</a> (warning: high fundie factor)
* <a href="http://www.christianwebsite.com/talk/index.php?s=214ad4746ef91b44e7de6e658237354e" target="_blank">ChristianWebsite.com Talk!</a> (recommended)
* <a href="http://www.theologyonline.com/vbulletin/index.php" target="_blank">TheologyOnLine Community</a> (not bad)
* <a href="http://www.theologyforums.com/forums/index.php" target="_blank">Theology Forums</a> (this one is good and contains lots of different forums)
* <a href="http://www.apologetics.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi" target="_blank">Apologetics.com Discussion</a> (not the greatest or most popular; UBB based)

Hope this helps.
