Another proclamation from Bush... prelude to banning abortion?
National Sanctity of Human Life Day, 2002
Quotes: "This Nation was founded upon the belief that every human being is endowed by our Creator with certain "unalienable rights." Chief among them is the right to life itself." "Unborn children should be welcomed in life and protected in law." So, uh... why was Dubya the most executionary governor in U.S. history when he was running Texas? Sanctity indeed. Looks like the rough part of the undeclared war in Afghanistan is over, so we now we return you to your regularly scheduled theocratizing. |

Anyone who's in the least bit surprised by this crap can see me about purchasing some prime swampland, er, vacation real estate. Shrubya has been bought and paid for by the religious right (and big business, but bashing them doesn't apply here) since day one.
Andy (PITW) Edited because I misspelled "Shrubya" as "Bush". [ January 19, 2002: Message edited by: PopeInTheWoods ]
|

It's called "Democracy," Mecha. Five votes clearly outweighs four. But that's over and done with. Just let it go.

Here, in Portugal, the discussion about legalizing abortion (better, banning the law that considers it a crime) is back once more. Most of the people think that the present law is hipocrit because everyone knows that women do it, how they do it and where. The worst thing is that the State, which should provide a general healthcare, is sending many poor women to their doom for they abort in inhumane conditions.
Banning abortion in the US is only stating that your country is filled with hipocrits, pseudo-moralists and general idiots. |

Interesting that he proclaims this day so close to the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, which I believe is the 22nd. I doubt that was any accident.
