The most bizarre thing here is that we can find 'almost' similar legends in sumeria and Egypt. Since i know and can prove that the ancients 'gods' of the sumerians and the egyptians were nothing more than just meteorites. I can as a matter of fact say that Adam, Eve,Abraham,Noah and the controversial Jesus were mere meteorites; a legend copied, modified and some 'gods' killed, a legend of the Black headed ones. Any rebutalls??? Let the wise teach the mystery to the wise [ August 21, 2002: Message edited by: Black Moses ]

AFAIK the only connection with meteorites in Egyptian society was with the metal obtained from meteorites being called the "iron of the gods", i.e they thought it a special gift sent down by the gods (or more specifically Ra, in which they are correct because it is the Sun's gravity that bring asteroids and comets close enough to the Earth to be captured). My big problem with Egyptology is that it is based on thousands of years of social conditioning that "god" means a paternal (or rarely maternal) super being, we really have no idea how the Egyptians themselves reconciled the symbology with reality, maybe they thought that the Sun was really a male super being or maybe they just used the symbology of a father figure to indicate the life giving properties of something they couldn't understand but still considered entirely natural. (i.e when speaking of Atenism Egyptologists always talk of the father Aten, symbology they themselves have translated into the texts but pictorial representations of the Aten show just a solar disc illuminating the real father figure of the Pharoah, similarly Amen-Ra is shown as a mixed species figure with plants (possibly representing all life) topped off by a solar disc (representing the giver of life) and holding an Ankh (or soul symbol). The way in which these sybols are interpreted is I think coloured by our own culture far more than we appreciate. Amen-Moses |

Coz what i will talk about is closely related or similar to alan alford book on the same title.... ______________________________________________ I think its time for When The Gods came down thread to came back home (Biblical Criticism & Archaeology) this is its right place. see my post here ----------------------------------------------- --Thanks-- [ August 28, 2002: Message edited by: Black Moses ]
