Post Archeology in other Faiths.

We all know all the extensive research done that discover's things in the Judaism/Christian past. Some adds evidence, and some takes away evidence (biblically speaking).

Now regardless of how authentic or reliable some of this evidence is, I am curious as to archeological evidence for other faiths (any faith) that supports (in some way) their beliefs.

So are there any other archeological discoveries for other faiths?

You bet. Mostly nationalistic rather than religious, though. Chinese archaeology is busy inventing a past for itself, and Japanese archaeology just got busted a couple of years ago.

The Mormon Church has been forced into the unenviable position of having to defend a historical position that is literally indefensible. This has resulted in a rash of pseudo-archeaological 'finds' that can be interpreted (read: twisted) to support the Book of Mormon story. Some items that spring to mind are the town of Nahom in Arabia, the so-called 'Tree of Life' stela from Izapa, the Bat Creek stone, etc.

Needless to say, there is no evidence that would convince a distinterested observer that the Book of Mormon story is true. This is immaterial however, since it seems clear that Mormon apologetics (like most apologetics) is geared more towards retaining and reassuring the faithful than convincing the unbeliever.

Oh I'm quite aware of "false" discoveries (well not specifically, but I'm aware of it happening).

I'm talking about authentic archeological discoveries.

Several have been made for the Hebrew history (which usually don't line up 100% with the Jewish OT, but does add some weight to it historically happening).

I'm just curious if any other faiths have had successful archeological discoveries (even if it doesn't agree with their scriptures 100%)

The city of Lud was mentioned in the Koran as being a very wicked place. Allah supposedly covered it up (along with another town) in a sandstorm to punish the people for their sins.

Well, guess what! Archeologists have found the reamins of two towns in the Arabian desert. the Muslims are screaming about how it proves the Koran true.
