Post What if Korech "rose from the dead"

I thought of a bizarre “what if” scenario. What if David Korech had been killed, but most of his followers were left alive and free. If the ATF had been smart, they would have tried to arrest him outside Camp Davidian. Supposing this had happened, Korech could have been shot resisting arrest and died a few weeks later. In the meantime, his leaderless followers surrender peacefully. Most of them would be set free since they had committed no crimes.

Some of his followers are continuing to claim David or Jesus as they sometimes liked to call him would rise from the dead. A few months later, the grave was found opened with no body in it! His followers claim to have seen their resurrected Messiah. How can you explain this incredible miracle.

Swoon theory isn’t applicable. He was pronounced dead in an ICU unit months ago.

Could a few of his followers have stolen the body and convinced the rest of the gullible fools to go along with it. Surely not! What would they have to gain from such a fraud. Watching their leader die would surely cause their courage to evaporate. No one could preach so convincingly for a cause they know to be a lie.

It’s obvious then that David Korech has in fact risen from the grave. We must all worship him!

Here's a "what if" that troubled me during the event: What if Koresh hid away in a bunker at the end of the stand-off, and had his compound completely destroyed, then 3 days later (or 2 if you can count), he pops out of his hidey-hole? How many more people would accept him as Jesus returned?

Now this relates to something I don't understand about Christianity. Why do Christians in general think the Resurrection, if true, proves all of Christianity?

I mean, maybe Jesus was resurrected, but Yahweh wasn't and isn't the one true god, the creator of the universe. Or maybe Arianism is true. This is possible, and yet Christian apologists, having argued for the Resurrection, never take care of this possiblity.

The point I'm making to the Christians is this: If Koresh did rise from the dead, most of you still wouldn't believe his theological teachings, and you would be right in not feeling obligated to so believe. So why do you expect me to see Jesus' resurrection, if it happened, as more than just another supernatural event?

Pranksters having a good laugh at the gullibility of the faithful!

The Pope was up here in Toronto recently for World Youth Day, and I was seriously contemplating getting a guy I know to make me some hot air balloon UFOs to let off while Karol was enthralling the flock. To see thousands of Catholics fall to their knees in reverence or else think that E.T. came to hear the sermon would have given me a frickin heart attack from laughter.

The guy I would have had make them supposedly can rig them to shine bright and white after they've got a good amount of altitude. His description sounded way better than the examples in these pics, but you get the idea.
