We have had one here in Texas for some time. It doesn't matter that the Rev. Baugh has been throughly discredited, he has been able to upgrade from an old travel trailer to a metal building in the last several years.

I wonder if his building will have the proper permits.

Ah nuts. Have some fun with it. Go hand out some geology pamphets just outside their door.

Talk in a loud voice about how bad their science is. Find out who they quote and take the book quoted in with you.

Talk loudly about how the quote is taken out of context and willingly show anyone who's interested.

Write letters to the editor, get the local university involved, maybe they could publish some kind of booklet.

Well when it opens there will be strong need of reports and reviews of it. Consider it an opportunity.

Exactly. Maybe they can be sued for fraud or slander or something like that. Their misrepresentations of science and scientists would surely qualify as that.

...good point about the need for reviews, pamphlets, etc. I wonder if I'd get in trouble for handing out pamphlets on evolution, so long as I stayed off of AIG property? After all, operation rescue is allowed to hand out pamphlets outside of abortion clinics. Anybody know the law??? Any other people in Ohio as upset about this as I am??

I doubt that they will slander any scientists. AiG knows that the world is watching and they are determined to avoid the mistakes of other creationists (ie Baugh, Hovind.)

And this project might be called a "museum" but being opened by a registered religious organization, the museum would probably be classed as a church or temple or an extension of same. First amendment then applies and requirement to be factual or not tell blatant lies goes out the window, thus no case for fraud.

If it's on public property, I doubt they could do much about it. Alternativly, make them available at the university and write a letter to the paper letting people know about it.

It won't convince the hard core creationists (would anything?) but it'll stop those who are uncertain from being deceived.
