Question Biblical Foreknowledge of Science

How would one explain the accuracy of Jeremiah 33: 22 and Genesis 15: 5? These verses seem so far ahead of their times, how does one explain them? This and other verses are mentioned atsite. Wouldn't it appear that the writer of Jeremiah and Genesis had knowledge as to the number of stars in the Universe long before anyone else did?

The stars are too many to count?

How is that impressive?

For a start, it may be just poetic hyperbole.
Secondly, it it hardly accurate. If the universe is finite, then it is possible to count the stars.

As the Bible supposedly says that the universe is finite, it must be wrong on one of these points.

If the Bible said there are 3,363,384,448 stars in a 468,104.391 light year diameter sphere 380 million light years away from the North Pole on 3 December 4986 AD and we discovered that this was true that would be impressive.

It sounds to me as if they either weren't too good with large numbers or weren't willing to go to the trouble of actually counting.

I wonder when these apologists will claim that the Bible had stated evolution by natural selection long before Charles Darwin's magnum opus.

  • Ecc 1:6
The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits.

According to that site, this is evidence for........the Jet Stream!
  • For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof: Which the clouds do drop [and] distil upon man abundantly.

Evidence for.....the hydrological cycle! Of course, it's missing the bottom half of the cycle.

Maybe after they figure out an actual definition of "kind". Or just possibly after they decide wtf "new information" means. Or maybe [*drumroll*] after they finally admit there is no barrier between micro- and macroevolution.

Look for an updated version of the babble: the "Evolved Newly Reformed Neo-Orthodox Darwinian Synthesis Bible" edition (aka the "God Inspired Darwin" version).

Fact
The stars are too great in number to count
And then on the page with links to universe expanding we find:
Quote:
There are a finite number of stars

Welcome aboard, Grond. Have you posted in the welcome forum?

Did you take that name in token of your future bashing your head against the wall of theism?
