Default 12 steps plan how to become an atheist?

Let’s try together to create a plan how to become an atheist. It can be similar to plans how to quit drinking or overcome anger, etc.

Step 1: Admit that you are NOT powerless over your life.

Step 2. Read the bible

That could well convince one of the non-existence of the God of the bible, but not gods in general.

Step 3: Question everything. Accept nothing on "faith".

Point taken - maybe "read the bible/koran/greek mythologies/Bhagahad Gita etc etc" would be more appropriate?

This should either be step 12, to avoid wise guys from dropping off halfway through, or step 1 to make sure that they do.

Step 4: Learn about all the world's religions. Explore their origins and influences.

I haven't the slightest where this would fall number-wise in the steps but I think fairly close to the top...

Learn the basics (at least) of logic and critical thinking.

I think step 4 and the modified step 2 could be combined. Learn about the world's religions, their origins, and their sacred texts.

Technically, no one "becomes" an atheist, since everyone is born atheist. We could call it "reverting" to atheism, or "throwing away the ancient, virulent mental baggage instilled upon us by our ancestors."
