Perry,

Your use of profane words (referencing the act of sexual intercourse) is quite shocking, and not something one would expect from a worshipper of Christ.

Thumbs down

Wow. To think the only reason I didn't reply to this idiot's "miracle" claims was because I thought we should be nice to him. Forget it, dude, you get only so much benefit of the doubt, and you just spent it.

Quote:
I've been reading all the Christian stereotyping/bashing and "I'm more Aetheist than you" talk on this board for a while while laughing my ass off.
Vague unsubstantiated assertion.

Quote:
Hardcore aetheism is just another place for people without friends to bond.
Yeah, that new club Harcore Aetheism, down the street, is really kickin'!

Quote:
Aside from the fact that you don't believe in a god (which is YOUR opinion),
Really? Why, what a shock! I had no idea why I identify myself as an atheist! Thank you for setting me straight!

Quote:
I'd bet the ranch that the majority of you are NOT "free thinkers". You're really no different than the Christians who you rip on.
More bullshit assertion.

Quote:
-You probably follow doctors who prescribe whack ass medications (that you never saw) that only help pharmaceutical companies profits. If only you knew half the side effects on these new drugs coming out.
WTF? Oh, wait, I see, this another "atheists have faith too!" rant. Very original. I guess you don't have a problem equivocating trust with faith.

Now, do you know anything about the side effects of medication? (At least they have effects, unlike "faith healing.")

Quote:
-You probably follow school systems who make college look like the best place to learn. For the record, I learned 10 times more on my own then I ever did in my 5 years of College. All they do is teach you how to THINK. Again let me put a bold on the word THINK.
Wow. This is going in the quotations file. Yes, maybe you should put a bold on the word think... and follow your advice.

Seriously, you've been in college? Stunning. I guess they forgot to teach you how to THINK... and to SPELL.

Quote:
-You probably follow whack ass political leaders who really have alterior motives for war. Remember Desert Storm?...all about the money.
There's a lot of "whack-ass" things in your world, eh? Um, tell me, assborg, how does this have anything to do with disbelief in god?

I'd love to see your thought on Dessert Strom posted in the Political Discussion forum...

Quote:
If you're younger you probably get all you morals from MTV. What the fuck does Britney Spear know?
Brit'eny Spear is a mighty warrior princess, and her mother, Pam'la Bloodblade, saved our whole tribe with her whorish skills!

Dude, is this half-assed tirade going to have a point sometime soon?

Quote:
-You probably listen to the mainsteam music that that your aetheists friends listen to. I listen to whatever the fuck I want. I even got ripped on in high school (early 90's) for listening to what was then alternative.
Oh, well aren't you cool! I have a suggestion: visit a shrink. They have medications for these paranoid fantasies. "Dumb aetheists... don't like my taste in music... They're all against me with their N*Sync..."

Just for the record, I listen to alternative rock, grunge, nu metal, hardcore, and classic rock, and wouldn't touch pop with a ten foot pole. Now, again, what in hell's bells does any of this crap have to do with disbelief in god?

Quote:
-You probably dress like all your aetheist friends do.

-You probably act the same way all your aetheist friends do.

-You probably focus on nothing, but money.
Dude, get a grip. Or do the species a favor and castrate yourself like Saint Paul would want you to. A lot of "you probablies" that have zero substantiation and zero relevance to anyhting. You are a joke; a sad, worn out joke.

Quote:
Only difference is that you don't believe in a god and they do, oh no. Wait I guess I'd be sterotyping you just like you do Christians.
More unsubstantiated bullshit assertion. Hey, you base all your argumetns on stereotypes, so why stop now?

Quote:
Oops, my bad. I know instead of trying to help the world not believe in something you don't BELIEVE in, how about you focus on changing a problem you can SEE.
What, like that grey matter leaking out your ear? That's a solution, not a problem.

Quote:
True, as a christion myself, I'll admit that there are some fucking idiotic messed in the head religious leaders. So what? You think they are the only people who try to control others?
THINK again.
"Think again?" Hey, at least that implies that we have thought in the past; that's more than you can say. What's the matter Prep H? Came here like a good "christion" soldier to convert the heathens, and now you're pissed that your mythologies of demons playing Raodrunner-cartoon pranks on your radio and telephone didn't impress us? Don't take it out on us if your made-up stories are as laughably implausible as your college record.

Off to RRP, yes, mods? QoS with be FEASTING tonight!

BTW, what the hell are "aetheists" and "christions?"

I'm apologize for the mispelling of Atheist several times. Now on with the topic...

I see you didn't read the part where I said "Wait I guess I'd be sterotyping you just like you do Christians. Oops, my bad." I know those were just stereotypes. My point is not all christians are the same. Just like not all Atheists are the same. You can stereotype us and it's okay. If we sterotype you it's not okay. What's wrong with this picture?

Okay, I reread my origial post and I didn't mean to put any of you guys down. I just think stereotyping Christians isn't cool.

I read a thread here where someone encouraged all of the atheists on this board to cause shit. It was for a theist message board.

For those defending college: It makes you think, their way.

Rimstalker, sorry for making you mad. Those things I talked about were not made up. I just got pissed at a thread I saw. My apologies.

Your attempt at stereotyping an atheist has failed. This is because its not a group in any real way. There is only one commonality: disbelief in a god.

In my opinion most christians fit into their little box without many problems. They mostly tend to think in a very similar way. Note that I said most.

A bullshit assertion that you have yet to substantiate! Try harder, dork.

Ooh, aren't you the iconoclast! After seeing your way of "thinking," I believe I shall stick to the methods of deductive logic taught in college, thank you.

There is a difference between being told HOW to think and being told WHAT to think.

Here are, as I see it, the two extremes in the continuum of "how to think":

1) You can be so sure of your position and so afraid of what your leaders have told you that you do not even consider the other side and then declare that you know everything there is to know about whatever it is you really know nothing about.

2) You take literally nothing at face value, investigate ALL claims, do not just believe in something because you were told (or because it just "felt" right), and actually EDUCATE yourself about issues before you weigh in on them. And then, after all of that, you STILL admit that you don't know everything there is to know.

College teaches you HOW to think towards the 2nd end of the extreme. This way of thinking seems less likely to create a Taliban or Spanish Inquisition. It also tends to help me get a better job than a gopher at the 700 Club. I'm going with option 2.

If you meant to be satirical, the fact that it was not seen as satire indicates that you failed.

If you intend to complain about specific acts by specific people, why did you not do that?

To attack atheists means that you are blaming me, and I did nothing.

If you attack the people who specifically did what you accuse them of as individuals then you have some credibility.

As I stated, if you want to debate the existence of God or some aspect of that then I am happy to do so.

And I am usually polite.

You can't spell "atheist".

You can't spell "ulterior".

I'm not on any meds, although I'm aware that FDA regs might fall short of the mark from time to time.

I dress in a nondescript, utilitarian style.

I agree that learning is largely self initiated, although getting my Bachelor's degree helped me learn how to evaluate ideas.

*All* my friends believe in "God", in one sense or another.

I'd say many or most atheists lean left (although I'm by no means sure of that), but I'm right of center.

I don't watch MTV. I don't even have cable.

I listen to music that most people hate.

I'm unambitious, and wouldn't trade additional income for free time, ever! Free time > teh monies!!!1111

You can't spell "Christian", despite the fact to profess to be one.

You fail!

I don't stereotype Christians, whose personalities certainly run the gamut from reasonable to insane. But Christianity itself is false, and based upon mere assertion, and I've no problem criticising it.
