Sigmund Brouwer?!
Just watching religious programming following the 700 Club (a guilty pleasure because it's so laughable) and there's this author named Sigmund Brouwer being interviewed on a show called "New Harvest" who's written a book about creation called "The Unrandom Universe". He's really pushing an ID angle.
In a basic Google search I discovered that pretty much all he's written before this new book are children's books and bad science fiction. On the show he's being presented as a credible science and philosophy expert (granted, I know the show's viewpoint is skewed). So far he's said things to the effect that a singularity is literally nothing, Earth has a perfectly circular orbit otherwise life couldn't exist, without and intelligent designer how could the universe exist if the four basic laws of physics didn't exist before the big bang and scientists are constantly scrambling to prove that gawd doesn't exist because their theories prove he does exist. I don't know what kind of crack he's smoking but it must be pretty nasty stuff to make him that loopy. Anybody hear of this hack before or his authority among the creationist community? -SK |

I wonder what kind of "science fiction" he writes.

Some expert. I'd be surprised if he graduated third grade. |

Well his website is <a href="http://www.coolreading.com/sigmund/" target="_blank">here</a>
and if you look at his book links he lists his westerns and detective books under non-fiction, which may give you some idea about his ability to discern fact from fiction. |

I didn't see anything in his bio to indicate any training in the sciences at all, so of course he is an ID expert.
here is another quote from his site, emphasis is mine, and yes I know it is just a mispelled word, but still: Quote:
another quote, uh-oh, some red flags here: Quote:

"Fiction science" is definitely the case.
His wife was on the show singing right after the interview with him. She pretty and has a nice voice but with the message in her songs she might as well be a harpy. -SK |
