What notMichaelJackson *should* have asked is "prove that the Earth will continue its rotation around its axis for the next 24 hours." And that, of course, has loads of astronomical observation, geophysical calculation, and other good science to back it up.

As the words are normally used the sun
does "rise" and it
does "set", though providing evidence that it will rise tommorow would presumably involve the more detailed perspective. Still, the simple knowldege that the sun always
has risen is evidence that it will rise tommorow, even if you are not aware of the mechanism.
