Post Wretched Congress-critters

I see the Senate has voted 100% that the judges were wrong (as a sense of the Senate resolution).

There was certainly no delay there (he's in the House) in pandering to the uninformed religious masses.

What a roller-coaster ride this afternoon has been - the highs of the ruling, and the lows of the aggravating majority of Murricans.

Sigh.

Cool

I really hate to say it.... and I've been hoping it wouldn't come to this.... but Australia's starting to look really good right now. Maybe the Netherlands. Or Sweeden... (except I do have to eat sometime... and while I don't DISlike fish... I'd get tired of it quickly. )

That's to be expected, I suppose. Vote-whoring opportunities like this are few and far between. The predictability doesn't make it any less maddening, though.

What kills me is all these public officials are saying "This is a bad, stupid ruling," but none of them are giving any reasons why. No one is saying "Under God should be there because..." They're just saying "It's wrong to take it out."

Why? Why is the ruling dumb? What in the wording of the court's decision is incorrect?

Oh, wait.... I'm expecting logical rhetoric from politicians.

"We have a lot of God-loving people that seem to think killing other people is the way to deal with things you don't agree with,"

Um, can we all say "duh?"

Funny that they all were so fast in reading the ruling, too.

Australia has swung as far to the right as the US, even farther in many respects (no private gun ownership, for example).

Better develop a taste for fish.

Ah, how ironic. In America, gun-control laws are put forth and supported by the liberals and vehemently opposed by the conservatives. Sometimes i think that, in america, "liberal" and "conservative" mean the opposite of what they mean abroad. Very roughly, liberal = bigger government, conservative = smaller government - so gun-control is a liberal thing. I guess.
