How do you know what the objective atheistic morality is?
Ok, a few of you have cited 'slavery is wrong' as an example of 'objective morality'. Like 'slavery is wrong' is true, regardless of whether communities think it's wrong or right. Maybe so, but in that case...
...I don't understand how you come to 'know' what the objective atheistic morality is. Where does that knowledge come from? If it comes from another person then what you've done is adopted their morality. Or if you disagree you've 'created' your own morality. What's objective about that? Ok, so having got your own idea of morality from someone else, or you made it up yourself based on reason and/or some feelings about what's 'right' and 'wrong' - how do you know that it is equal to 'the objective morality'??? So, is this 'objective morality' kind of 'out there' to be discovered? Where did it come from? How can you prove it's objective and it's correct? love Helen |

Hi Helen,
It seems like we have three threads all asking the same question. In the interests of consolidation, I am going to lock this one and ask that the discussion continue here subjective and objective morality thanks Grizzly |
