Simpsons Dedicate Episode to SJG
Today's new episode of The Simpsons had a dedication at the start of the closing credits to Stephen Jay Gould with a picture from his episode of that show. They have done the same for other people who have appeared on the show but are no longer with us.
It was also a very funny episode. |

It couldn't have been a new episode; the season finale was last Sunday! Just because it had never aired before doesn't mean it was a new episode. Because everyone knows "season finale" means there aren't any more new episodes for the rest of the summer. Similarly, a new episode after a long summer drought is, de facto, the season premiere. The following week's episode does not deserve that title.
That said, I'll add that the Professor had the additional honor of having a dedicated episode which did not entirely suck. [ May 23, 2002: Message edited by: Grumpy ]
|

http://www.snpp.com/episodeguide/season13.html And I see I missed two episodes instead of the one episode I thought I had. :-( Still after a lot of disappointing episodes in the last couple years, I just loved this episode. Out of curiosity, did the people who have never watched The Sopranos think it was funny? Got yourself a gun! Though in Homer's case it should be a doughnut. |

My hissy-fit is justified, on the grounds that FOX promoted the Sunday episode ("The Frying Game") as the "KILLER SEASON FINALE!" I have it on tape.
I also remember that FOX did the same thing for Season 7, when "Homerpalooza" was touted as the finale -- followed by a second, bonus episode the same night. [ May 24, 2002: Message edited by: Grumpy ]
|
