Default HuggyJesus

I saw this advertised on a billboard (!) today, so I guess it's not a joke.

http://huggyjesus.com/index.htm

Quote:
This collectable, lovable doll will be cherished for years to come.
All can enjoy the warmth and comfort of Huggy Jesus.
Share His love with this precious gift for your children or grandchildren.
Quote:
....As he was praying he looked up and saw a vision of Jesus on the altar.....Jesus' outstretched arms and loving gaze inspired Sean, who was so shaken by what he was experiencing, to cry openly. Tears were streaming down his face as he crawled onto the altar and gave Jesus a hug.

That loving embrace inspired Sean to go out into the world and make a huggable doll in His image so (with a little help from his friends) the whole world could receive a hug from Jesus.
ugh

Didn't jesus say 'I come not with a hug, but with a sword?'

heh

Order today!

Remember, the sooner you order your Huggy Jesus, the lower and more valuable your number will be!

I thought you were kidding so I Goolged it and wound up on
Amazon. I thought the depths of bad taste had been plumbed long ago. I was wrong. A new record depth has just been acheived.

No kidding, I saw this on a big outdoor billboard.
(For those in Seattle, saw it on Aurora ave. north of Green Lake)

It had clouds and the head of the creepy HuggyJesus and said:

Huggy Jesus

Coming Soon

Then the URL and a phone number

Now, I don't know if it's the Huggy Jesus that is coming soon or the rapture, either way I'm thinking maybe I'll just stay home this weekend

Talking

What we really need is a squeezable stress toy dressed to look like Jesus. If he suffers for our sins, then he will choke on my road rage!

On second thought, why should we object in any way? After all, it's the Christians trivialising their own beliefs. I stand aside, after you dear believer.
