An atheist may or may not have hope just as a Christian may or may not have a brain. Here is a stab at Christian logic - So since most Christians do not have a brain therefore most atheists have hope. This is very similar to the argument - Since all atheists do not believe in god therefore all atheists do not have hope. These arguments, in the disgusting tradition of Christianity, make assumptions and connections that are just not there. Just a moment of reflection (something Christians do not appear capable of) would make one realize that just about everybody everywhere has some hope. This would indicate that if there is a connection it is between hope and just being human. Christianity does not apply. At most, all it can claim to be is one of the many ways that humans use to express that which is intrinsic to all of us. If you Christians out there would just try for one moment and think very very very hard (for a Christian that is) perhaps you just might be able to squeeze out of your tiny brains just one or two other ways that humans use to express hope this is not religious. Be careful now, your Christian propaganda machine has worked very hard to convince you that everything is a result of Christianity, but realize two things, 1) your religion is only 2,000 years old. 2) Humanity has been around much much longer than that. Hi. My life has value on its own, thank you kindly. You can live YOUR life as if it were meaningless, i care not. Each of us give meaning to our own life, and if you choose not to, well that's your problem. Oh and hope is for those that can't deal with reality. You act as if living without hope is a bad thing. Choose: "this sucks, i hope it gets better." or "This sucks, i'm going to do something about it to make it better." bleh. |

I am going to move this thread to ~~Elsewhere~~ as it doesn't seem to warrant a place in a higher forum.

If your mystical experience is dependent upon access to mountains and mushrooms, will that be a problem?
I live in the middle of the prairies, so mountains are hard to come by. I've had some good times up north in places you can only reach by canoe, but I didn't think to bring any drugs with me. |
