Default different thinking

Ok, if we are not that different for animals why do we care about how they feel? When an animal wants to eat, it eats. A lion never takes into account the panic and terror of a gazel right before it's heart stops. Yet, for some reason we do take this into account. It is rather ironic actually, by seperating ourselves from nature (idealistly) we forget what nature really is. If we dominate the planet (which we do right now) nature will have to addapt to us (which it is already doing). Survial of the fittest, well cows (chikens, pigs) are the most fit organism for feeding humans. Their entire existance is dependent on feeding us. If we didnt kill them wolves, foxes, bears or some other meat eating animal would. The entire vegitarian standpoint is rather stupid, "ohh, I don't want to kill animals because they feel pain." Well anything feels pain when it dies. And if we were not killing it (in the most human way possible) it would die a lot more gruesome death. What is worse, being killed sloppily by the mandibles of some carnivore or being shocked with a rectal probe that stops the animals heart..? This is like what number is bigger 1 or 8938? It is a stupid question that people ask because they have seperated themselves from nature when in reality it is impossible to be seperate of nature.

Your opinion is very valid! I agree with you that the vegetarian opinion is annoyingly stupid, for the same reasons you mentioned.
Off the main subject, however, I think humans are quite different from other animals in how much they can affect the environment. We are the only species able to completely destroy the planet and make it absolutely uninhabatable. But I don't think this is very related to what you were saying. Anyway...
