Well looks like I lost that one. Double or nothing on the Rapture, anyone?

I think we'll have to nail him down on a
definition of "soon"....

Soon to him may mean thousands of years to us. But he will come one day. Just you wait.

What empirical evidence do you have suggesting this?

Much as I'd like to, I don't think I can wait hundredsof years, much less thousands. Besides, didn't Jebus himself say that this (his) generation would not all die before all these things came to pass?

Besides, Hal Lindsey's whole schtick is convincing people that all these wonderful prophecies are being fulfilled right now!

I think you should read 88 Reasons the Rapture will be in 1988. I believe Hal agreed with that guy completely, until about 1989 anyway.

IvanK: Soon may mean thousands of years to the Cubs, too.

But... when YOU wrote:

Although I think that these prophesies might very soon be true.
What were YOU you thinking it meant?
All your other comments regarding this topic are
of the present, not what might happen with the
EU in a thousand years (as if they will still
be around).
