I spent the day at work, finishing java coding for a project that was due at the end of the month.

Reread parts of A.N. Wilson's Paul: The Mind of the Apostle, did housework, drank beer, and watched Life of Brian.
Saturday, however, I was roped into an Easter brunch with many of my wife's family (about half of whom are fundies). Her pompous preacher grandfather called for everyone to join hands for the prayer. We weren't gathered around one table but were scattered around the room, so it was easy to stand aloof and do nothing. My wife's grandfather got two words into the prayer before suddenly looking at me and directing (not asking, directing) me to grab a hand and bow my head. I politely but firmly replied that I don't pray and encouraged them to proceed. He missed about a half-beat, realized I meant it, and went ahead with what turned out to be a 4-5 minute prayer. Of course, after that some of the in-laws acted a little nervous around me, like I had devoured a live animal in front of them. |

My aunt: "Happy easter!"
Me: "Huh? Oh yeah." Not to be too rude I added: "I got up about an hour ago, sorry" My sister were in the other side of the house when they had their prayer for dinner. As we headed to the line for food, I said, "at least we missed the prayer" She's agnostic and I'm atheist -- the only smart ones in the family in that respect. Less baggage that way. |

Went to see an amazing performance of [i]The Crucible{/i], a play about how a bunch of godly men and women, in their efforts to love their neighbors as themselves, hanged a bunch of people accused of witchcraft in Salem, Mass, in the late 17th Century.
At intermission, I annoyed some of the people around me by saying that the witch burnings were not that different from the 9/11 attacks, except in terms of scale. The Salem folks didn't have the explosive capabilities we enjoy today, but I think they did the best they could with what they had. Most satisfying Easter I spent since I stopped hunting for eggs many years ago |

I uh... slept past 12. Took a shower, did some homework, then went over to my friend's dorm and used Easter as an excuse to splurge a bit and make out own dinner rather than go to the Cafe.
