Post Scary Reactions to Pledge Ruling

How about posting the scariest quotes you've heard in reaction to the pledge decision.

Quote:
President Bush - Washington Post
<strong>Bush said the ruling "points up the fact that we need common-sense judges who understand that our rights were derived from God. And those are the kind of judges I intend to put on the bench."</strong>
Quote:
CNN<strong>In an impassioned speech on the Senate floor just before the resolution vote, Sen. Robert Byrd, D-West Virginia, said he is the only remaining member of Congress who voted for the addition of "under God" on June 7, 1954. He warned the judges who declared the Pledge of Allegiance unconstitutional to never come before him because "he'll be blackballed."</strong>

That Bush quote is sadly memorable. I won't forget it for some time. "See, what we need is some judges who have already judged what they're supposed to be judging!"

I'm surprized Bush didn't say - and that's why we need to cut taxes for the top brackets.

Can we impeach a President who vows to ignore the constitution?

I hope so. It'll never happen, because the very people who have the power to impeach him are in agreement with him. Fuckit! We need to do something! If letters to government officials don't work, I say we gather every non-Christian we can find and block-vote for the other guy, as long as he's not a blind moron too. Arg!

Angry

From <a href="http://www.cnn.com/2002/LAW/06/27/pledge.allegiance/index.html" target="_blank">this</a> link.

Quote:
"The Justice Department will defend the ability of our nation's children to pledge allegiance to the American flag by requesting a rehearing en banc [full bench] by the full 9th Circuit," Ashcroft said in a statement.
Our shit-for-brains attorney general hasn't read the descision, or he'd know that our school children can still pledge allegiance to our flag. The government just can't teach it to them as long as it involves religious instrution.

Quote:
"This decision was wrongheaded and it should not be allowed to stand," [CA Gov.] Davis said. "With troops overseas, this is the wrong decision at the worst possible time."
So when is the right time to correct a wrong? I remember the people saying a similar thing to Rev. King during Vietnam. I'm sorry, Gov. Davis, but atheists are Americans too. I will not be marginalized because it makes you feel safer!
