An appropriate companion statue might be a 250 foot tall dipiction of the burning of a witch or heretic.

While Mahattan is correct in that Monahaghn no longer owns Domino's, when he sold it, he vowed to give all his money away to the propagation of his faith. But while he still owned Domino's, he gave huge sums to support anti-abortion; while the owner of Detroit Tigers, threatened to take his ball and bat and leave if the city didn't give him new stadium; all the time making big money on something fraudulently called pizza.

He was quoted in a rare interview some time ago as saying that if he had known that his wife wouldn't convert to Catholicism after their marriage, he would never have married her. Nice, Christian guy.

I've driven past the 190 foot tall cross in Groom, Texas. I was relocating my belongings from Atlanta, Georgia to Tucson, Arizona. Having already driven down the I20/I10 route twice, I wanted to try something different, and elected the more northern route, using I40. I had no idea such a thing existed, and as a result had the giggles for miles afterwards. Tackiest damn thing I've seen in years. If I were a Christian, I would be offended at how tacky it is.

If anyone happens to be in the area it is certainly worth a drive-by just for the amusement value.

Here's an update on Tom's folly. It's been derailed - sorta.

In the immortal words of Bill Hicks (a man whose stinging social commentary has been missed since his death in 1994):

Quote:
A lot of Christians wear crosses around their necks. You think when Jesus comes back he ever wants to see a fucking cross? It's kinda like going up to Jackie Onassis with a little sniper rifle pendant. "Hey Jackie, just thinking of John."
