That is pretty much what I do. I don't initiate any religious-oriented discussions with Christians, in fact, I try to go out of my way to avoid them, like changing the subject.
I tend to not be like that here, because the board is for infidels.
But here at work, visiting family, etc I pretty much avoid conversation unless they keep forcing the issue, then I try to be tactful, saying things like "I'm not so sure about that", etc.

Our interchanges are good natured, at least they start out that way and I try to finish them honourably.

He usually expresses a viewpoint that I feel compelled to take issue with - you know, to get some ballance. I do remember starting one. A weather reporter was discussing record rainfall statistics (July was shockingly wet in NZ)

Me: "Gee, *******, it's practically been raining for forty days and nights!" .........

Cheers,
Tusi

Is it wise to destroy a man's faith?

Well if that man were Osama Bin Laden, then obviously yes!

If only it were that simple. This is an extremely aggressive religion. Christians have no trouble sending missionaries all over the world for the sole purpose of saving souls. This has been going on for almost 2,000 years. They do not know how to live and let live. Payback is a bitch. I say nail the buggers to the wall!

Speaking of Osama bin Laden and payback, I don't know if any of you saw this, but last week Pat Robertson was on Hannity & Colmes on Fox News, criticising the muslim religion for being fanatical. How they were encouraged to be violent against non-believers, how sick the religion was. He didn't want to be politically correct, etc. If you substitued the bible with his words about islam they would have the exact same meaning. It was pretty surreal.
