Here's another link:
<a href="http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_556208.html" target="_blank">http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_556208.html</a> A man named James (monk@bicycling.com) claims on Usenet to have accompanied Dr. Gibson when this shroud was found. He writes: "Now when this shroud is compared along side the Turin shroud differences become immediately apparent. The Turin shroud is linen, while this one is more like wool. While linen is not so unusual the Turin shroud shows a very complicated twill (herringbone) technique. This shroud is a very simple weave. A twill weave is not found anywhere in the Levant in the 1st century. On this basis alone it is very hard to accept that the shroud of Turin comes from 1st century Palestine." best, Peter Kirby |

There's a slightly skeptical note here:
<a href="http://www.msn.fullfeed.com/~scribe/digest20022.htm#6" target="_blank">http://www.msn.fullfeed.com/~scribe/digest20022.htm#6</a> They question whether there would be enough DNA to test for tuberculosis, and dispute the location of Pilate's palace. |
