Post LDS - need help

Got in argument with some LDS members on Book of Mormon, mainly concerning geography and history of the times, and they've given me the rebuttal of my statements from <a href="http://farms.byu.edu/free/reports/index.html" target="_blank">http://farms.byu.edu/free/reports/index.html</a>

Does anyone know where to find rebuttal of Farms reports? Don't want and can't afford to spend huge amounts of time in checking out every claim on my own, and don't want to let them "win". So if anyone knows any online resources where I can find rebuttal of these statements, please help!

Suggestion: "Honest Intellectual Inquiry"
Ex- Mormon freethinker contains lots of good information.

Wolf,
do you mean <a href="http://www.exmormon.org" target="_blank">www.exmormon.org</a> or something else?

Or <a href="http://www.2think.org/hii/mo.shtml" target="_blank">http://www.2think.org/hii/mo.shtml</a> ?

I've found Smithsonian statement in many places, but what I need is rebuttal of their rebuttal of Smithsonian statement.

BTW, we are under invasion here. This evening I've seen 6 (yes, six!) missionaries in the supermarket. Two Asian (but not chinese) females and four white American males. Ugh!

<a href="http://www.connect-a.net/users/drshades/farms.htm" target="_blank">Dr. Shades' review of FARMS Review of Books</a> provides rebuttals to many of FARMS techniques. Don't forget to check out the links at the bottom.

Is this the kind of thing you're looking for, alek0?

I need something more specific, i.e. rebuttal of FARMS reports on archaeology, domestic animals, wheat, barley etc. In other words, Smithsonian issued a statement, FARMS gave rebuttal of that statement, and I need responses to thta. Of course it doesn't sound at all convincing to me that they just called deer horses etc., but I need better argument than that.

If you go to Acharya S' web site "truth be known",
and check out the links, you will find the information I suggested. Whether this will help you I cant really say, but it surely cant hurt
to check it out.
The site I refered you to was prepared by an ex Mormon bishop.
Let me know it if helps if not I could always pull out my old dusty copy of the Book of Mormon and the Doctrines and covenants, pearl of great price.....

Wolf,
thanks for mentioning a nice site, but I still haven't found what I was looking for. It would be great if you could help with any one of the following topics:

Reformed Egyptian, see claims which need to be debunked at:
<a href="http://farms.byu.edu/free/transcripts/tmpl.asp?content=hamref" target="_blank">http://farms.byu.edu/free/transcripts/tmpl.asp?content=hamref</a>

Naming by analogy, i.e deer is horse, tapir is donkey etc.
See their writing at:
farms.byu.edu/free/reports/barley.html
farms.byu.edu/free/reports/horses.html

Existence of cement:
farms.byu.edu/free/reports/cement.html

Silk:
farms.byu.edu/free/transc...sorenson95

Origin of Indians
farms.byu.edu/free/transc...sorenson95

Reproduction rate:
farms.byu.edu/free/transc...t=reynauth

Geography in Arabia
farms.byu.edu/free/transc...t=reynauth

I've been also asked to give alternative explanation for the origin of Book of Mormon, but at least on that I can find enough material.
I would really appreciate if you could help with any one of the above.

I fail to understand how can anyone beleive in that sort of junk like "naming by analogy"...
