The interesting part here is that Catholics already boast about their saints in heaven who from their lofty position can see the suffering souls in hell. Does this not mean that just as heaven is a place on earth that hell is the same but just opposite to it?

Well... one theory was that hell is in the center of the earth. For that matter hell or heaven could be all around us if we were to consider that we do not have the ability to percieve the existence of the " spiritual world"... is that what you are leading to?
Amos I hope you do realize that I make efforts to keep up with your interesting thoughts.
Please give me another clue.....

I did teach my kids though that if mom dies they will be with her again. It makes them less fearful to face the death of a beloved one.
That is the part of being a strong atheist that hurts and makes me feel envious at times. But I am unable to believe. Sometimes I choke up watching a movie. Well, to be honest, a lot of times I choke up.

Sort of like Tammy Faye and Jan Crouch, -make-up. I don't think she has ever read the whole bible. As a matter of fact I'm sure she hasn't.

She would, no joke!
I really wish I could meet her. Maybe if we hook up when we go back to LA. ( I hope sometime in April ).
I know it is very tough on you to deal with her... but keep in mind that she has a history of dysfunctional behavior and her religious obsession is some kind of an " iron curtain" so she does not deal with her real issues. You will frequently find mentaly unstable people who become obsessive thru religious practices. It is sort of a compulsive behavior.... it might help you to not be so affected by her rejection of you as you are.

What a great comfort.

Unless of course they've picked the wrong brand and they'll actually be with her again in the eternal lake of fire.

Not quite so reassuring......

You don't have to "believe" Kally and it is not good for you to get "choked up." Can't you just leave it an open question and never look for an answer? Chances are that the answer will come when you forgot about the question you once had.
