In ___ We Trust
Having recieved several bills that had the word God blackened out of the phrase in god we trust, I've decided to encourage other Atheists to do likewise. It not only protests the blatant violation of seperation of church and state but also lets other atheists know they are not alone.

There was a thread ages ago called "Correcting Currency" which started me on my campaign of crossing out the whole In God We Trust motto. I carry a blue sharpie around with me at all times because it's the perfect size for a single pass.

You actually *got* some? Cool. It's the first I've heard of anyone recieving a corrected bill. Makes me feel more like the effort is worth it .

If you all send me those "corrected" bills you received, I'll let you know if they're my work. I promise I'll consider returning them.
I not only cross out IGWT, but write in "E Pluribus Unum". I have a few boring conference calls during the week, so I have the time to get a bit more elaborate and make the corrections noticeable. Andy |

STILL CORRECTING MY CURRENCY!!!!
I cross off the whole IGWT. I like the idea of correcting it with EPU. Next conference call. Maybe I'll buy a stamp. They're only 5 bucks or so..... Although EPU appears in the Eagle's beak. I could circle it... It's great to hear of an atheist getting some corrected currency! First I'd heard, too. Even better that it inspired a new corrector or two. Big satisfied smile. A protest that "they" can't undo. Smile bigger. Aaahhhh. Where's that sharpie? |

I`m pretty sure the first corrected dollar I received had been corrected in NY. Red ink was used to cross out "god" as well as give an internet address to track dollar bills.
I went to the site to sign up and see if it had any info on my dollar. Come to find out it took almost a whole year for this dollar to travel from upstate NY to me in Southeastern MA where it finally found someone who would look for it on that website. Does anyone know the site I`m talking about? I can`t remember what the address was. |

Fantastic, Keep up the good work. I tried to do a whole bunch a once with a Hole Punch but the words don't line up like they should.
