The people that favor abstinence-only education do not care about preventing diseases and unwanted pregnancies. For them, it is all about preventing sin. Premartial sex is sinful to them as is using birth control.

I agree with Chad (hey,Iowa), and will add that if sin can't be prevented it must be punished! Get a disease! Get pregnant! Filthy slut, it's a punishment from the Almighty for having nasty, deadly non-married sex (as opposed to the beautiful, wonderful holy-matrimonial sort).

My school has an abstinence only education stance, I haven't had the course yet, but I'm gonna hopefully try and stir up some truth.

What is particularly disturbing about this story is that this is a dangerous and egregious policy that is emerging under the radar. It runs entirely counter to the mission of the CDC, and no one seems to be paying outraged attention.

Flash foreward to next season's episode......Johnny goes to prison for selling dope and has to leave his still virgin wife at home where she does Tyrone and the fat bottomed preacher's daughter.
