Domestic violence only exists because there is something wrong and I never want to become part of that argument. My wife actually crowned me king to make herself queen -- which I thought was rather clever on her part.</strong>
HUH? Just be happy that men still run the majority of major corporations and hold the majority of the positions in governent? Be happy that women make less for the same job and currently still have no chance of being elected to President? Exactly why should we be happy about this? Just because money corrupts the *male* leaders of the major/minor religions? Please!

ShabbyChick, if you want to become an honest female leader of your church you are welcome to give it a try. I would not object, nor would I object to you becoming the next president of the USA.

I guess I missed the point since you hold that it is impossible.

Why don't you form your own corporations and if you are succesfull you can buy the bank that at one time believed in you.

["Physical distinction?" Do you really think that only sex is required to make babies and that only nipples are required to feed them?

I made it clear that I have no objection to females working and never even made the distincion that it is OK if they have to for financial reason. My point was that females should have more noble ambitions wherein they can come to their own liberation (which is not the bible in case you wonder but in the cultivation of their own womanity). Yes they can do this even when working but not when "holding down a job."

Sorry I had longer post but it got lost and the above is just a short version of it.

They should have more noble ambitions? Is working not noble? Or is working not noble if you're a woman. I hate to break it to you, but this womanity you speak of is a result of social pressures and expectations. These traits aren't inbred. They are conditioned (were conditioned). It's no coincidence that with all-around American liberation (civil rights, homosexuality, entertainment, womens movement) came a change in womens place in our country. It's a proven fact that women have fought with alcoholism, depression and painkiller addiction for hundreds of years as a result of bottle up anger. Anger that came as a result of being held back. Whether you care to admit to this is another thing.

Bottom line: A woman's right to choose her destinies should not be challenged unless it negatively impacts someone else. That said, if a woman has children, and her work interferes with her abilities to raise them, then we have a problem. But that goes for fathers too. Too many times in today's culture, it is acceptable for fathers to have second lives (sports, hobbies, 2nd job), but the mother is balked at for doing anything outside of the home. That's unfair. And if a woman does not want to have kids, more power to her. It's certainly better than a woman having children due to role expectations and not going into the parenthood thing whole-heartedly. Role expectations due to gender do not benefit women, they benefit men.

Women are not here for our sexual desires. Women are not here for pro-creation. Yes they are the only sex that can pro-create, but that doesn't mean that's their duty. It's a choice.

(Trying to drag this thread somewhere near its' original topic before Amos makes my brain explode)

From Positiveatheism website:

Quote:
The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism, and become lesbians.
-- Pat Robertson, fundraising letter, 1992
Don't say you haven't been warned.

So destruction of capitalism is as evil as murdering babies?
Does that mean communism will automatically lead to murders of children!

Oh wait! China is already doing so with its one-child policy! Whew!

To begin with, I don't think my honesty would be very appreciated at any local church as I am an atheist. From what I understand, most churches would frown on that trait in a church leader!

Also, if you had read my *entire* post, including the part after my name, you would have seen that I *AM* starting my own business BECAUSE I couldn't get paid a reasonable salary compared to my male counterparts at my previous place of employment! And yes, it is almost impossible (I added almost as legally it *is* possible) for a woman to be elected as President until the brain-washing religions stop convincing people like you that women belong in the home, seen but not heard!

The feminst agenda is about equal rights and is done with good intentions. Women do not want to be superior or socialist but they just want to be equal. The problem is that the above comments will be the undesired consequences because none of us are in charge of our own destiny but are products of the previous generations. We are incarnate creatures with a soul that pulls the strings from behind the scene and this is what feminist fail to recognize.

Our actions are for the most part reactions to an inner primary cause.
