Less than murders and whoremongers? We topped them on your little shit-list.

How can you think less of Atheists, there's no where to go but up?

I don't think any less of an atheist than I do myself or any other human being, just because I debate in favor of God, doesn't mean I don't love my fellow man.

Will you be surprised to learn that after your comment I think less of you?
Biff, unfortunately and sadly I realize that I am an object of hatred for some, I always hope I am not thought of as less of a person for believing in God, but look at yourself, is your statement fair and non judgemental?

Is this the only quality by which a human should be gauged?

As opposed to staying in heaven with only the "pious Christians" who have no talent but piety.

Talking about the diversity in hell and its atmosphere of intellectualism and love of beauty...
I find it amusing that atheists picture Hell as just a place where everyone who rejects God just has a party and lives contently. this is Hell, you will not be in good company, you will not be enjoying beauty or intellect - you will be tormented in darkness, along side the devil for all eternity. No casual get togethers with friends, no enjoying the scenery - only darkness and torment.

How do you know all this?

I picture hell as non-existent. Further, I find it a bit amusing that grownups still believe in heaven and hell fairy tales.

What makes you think hell is anything like this? Dante's Inferno isn't exactly strictly biblical, you know.

But God is who he described himself as, if the bible is to be believed, then God is all everything, including wrathful.

The book says what it says, there are somethings that seem scary, but it can't be sugarcoated.

A Christian has to accept that their is a being more powerful than themselves, and they are at the mercy of that being.
So in summary, you are uncomfortable with parts of the bible, especially the scary bits, such as atheists and christians alike will go to hell because god is wrathful. You do not seem happy to be at the mercy of an all-powerful meglomaniac bloodthirsty despot, and furthermore most christians feel this way, too.

You took your time, Badfish, but welcome to the wonderful world of atheism.

Wow. scary

It's a good thing it doesn't exist or I might be worried.

Now, are you going to answer my question in the flat earth thread or continue to avoid it?

The God you describe sounds almost like a demon.

I don't think they really think that. When people become afraid of a possibility, they brush it off as a joke. Or for those that are so convinced that hell doesn't exist it is no more than just a fictional place.

They will indeed not be in good company, they will be eternally in torment (whether physical or mental).

My best friend is atheist, rather I should say agnostic, he always asks me questions, he admits that he is worried, and too often wonders whats going to happen when he dies. I am trying to get him to a train of thought which allows him to make the best educated decision possible. He comes to me, I don't cram anything at him.

So I believe that some men are being called and are unsure how to answer that call, that is why man seeks knowledge, but sometimes that knowledge isn't convincing. And I understand, I've been down that road.

Is there any unbelievers or agnostics here that can say they 100% accept death with no possibility of an afterlife?

Wow, it's as well that god is good, isn't it? We'd all be in trouble if he was nasty and evil, wouldn't we?
