Scary Flash Animation of CS Separation
http://www.bushflash.com/faith.html
The scary part is that it reproduces part of the Texas Republican Party Platform. Quotes from prominent Republican Christians saying God told them to smite Iraq and such are interspersed with similar quotes from Adolf Hiter and a few other Nazis, then pictures of war are interspersed with Biblical quotes about how blessed are the peacemakers, etc. Ominous background music. What do you think? effective propaganda or too much? |

Yeap the Texas Republican Platform is nuts. That's because the only right-wing-radicals bother to attend the state convention. Last time I looked that majority of Texas Republican politicians didn't not sign onto the "official" platform. This of course irrated the nuts who go to the state convention, so they tried to pass a bylaw that would excommunicate any republicans who didn't sign onto the "official" platform. It only barely lost.

While I think that Bush & Co. are nutty zealouts, I always have a problem with people who use quotes from Hitler (or other famous evil people) to support their argument of people in the present.
I'm reminded of a bumper sticker I saw recently which was making an argument against handgun registration by showing a quote of Hitler talking about how Germany would be taking a great step because now handguns would all be registered. Now suggesting that absolutely everything Hitler agreed with was evil is simply irrational. Hitler liked candy, dogs and painting for example... none of those are, IMO, evil things... but if you put up "I like dogs" -- Adolf Hitler as part of your argument, the inference would usually be 'Hitler liked dogs, therefore dogs are bad.' It's a ridiculous argument and there are better ones to use. |

A tad.. propoganda-ey, IMO, but still has many valid points.

I'd say, "Poor Texans," but then they voted these guys into office in the first place!
Poor non-Republican Texans. Except for those represented by Ron Paul, not your typical Republican. Shhh! He's actually a Libertarian! |

Bush (pick one) = The epitome of terrible leadership election.
I thought the flash was insightful but I am sick and tired of people bitching about how terrible it was to go after Saddam Hussein and tear down what he dared call a government. Whatever we implement isn't fractionally as bad as what he had. Raping, chemical testing, and outright murdering is not tolerated on the world front as ways of running a country. I'm glad that his regime and it's supporters are finding their places...six feet under. I am just as mad as any other American out there that we have yet to find what our president has promised us and I hope that it reflects terribly upon him in our history books of the future. |

IMO, it's just as bad as before, except this time there's no scapegoat to point the finger at. |
