One Nation Under Ozz
I have a son who's gonna be in the first grade next year. Guess how I'm going to teach him to say the pledge???
Ozzy! Ozzy! Ozzy! More kids can probably tell you what time The Ozbournes is on than can recite the whole pledge. |

That's cool; but I would rather my children recite (disruptively): "... one nation, under THE COMMAND OF THE INVISIBLE PINK UNICORN; WHO IS SENDING YOU INFIDELOUS JESUS-FREAKS TO HELL, indivisible, with liberty, and justice for all."

My kid decided (on his own, but probably with a little prompting from mom) to say "under the roof" (as in "one nation, under the roof, indivisible...."). It makes more sense than that God-thing does.....

Personally, I think I'll just stick with "under paid". Now there's an idea all Americans can unite & agree on.

I came to the States from England I was 7. When I started school, 2nd grade, I was taught the Pledge by a teacher with a Southern accent and for YEARS I thought the wording was "...one nation, under GUARD...".
In today's US, how appropriate this error turned out to be. Gilly |

I think yelling "SANTA CLAUS!" when the "Under gawd" part comes up would be damned funny Yeah, you'd get your ass kicked a few times, but hey ...
