An easier place to cite than a Google newsgroup archive.

The debtor, Kent Hovind, filed this case pro se on March 1, 1996. Accompanying his petition for relief, the debtor filed the schedules and statement of affairs required by 11 U.S.C. 521(1) together with a preprinted form chapter 13 plan on which he indicated monthly payments to be made of $60.00 per month. In his schedules and statement of affairs, the debtor represents that he is an evangelist employed by God and that he receives no income, has no expenses, owns absolutely no property, and has no creditors except for the IRS with a claim of $10,602.31. On March 8, 1996, one week after the filing of his petition, the debtor filed a pleading entitled "Petition for Return of Seizure" requesting an order requiring the IRS to return to the debtor unspecified property which it had apparently seized.
</strong>
Am I missing something here or is Hovind denying that he owns any property while at the same time demanding the return of property that he owns(owned)?

Of course, this is the same dumbass who whines about how his tax dollars are spent while not paying them!

I can't stop laughing, thanks for the link.

Rather than appearing and producing any of the records set forth in the summons, the debtor submitted a letter to Revenue Officer Powe claiming that he is "a non resident alien to the federal government," that he cannot confirm nor deny that he received income nor that he was a taxpayer under the IRS Code, and demanding that the IRS provide him with certain items proving that he was required to pay taxes.
They should've sent him a picture of one of the prisons down there in <a href="http://www.dc.state.fl.us/" target="_blank">Florida</a> and asked him if that was enough proof.

An inventory of the debtor's van following seizure by the IRS revealed video and audio tapes and printed literature on creationism published by the debtor. Included in the literature is an order form containing prices designated as "suggested donations:" The "suggested donation" for the video tapes ranged from $9.95 each to $14.95 each with the "donation" for a set of all eighteen (18) of the debtor's videos of $180.00.
Why does this seem creepy to me? "I've got some videos for you. They're in my van; come and see."

Here, the debtor, who has failed to acknowledge his obligations as a citizen and taxpayer of the United States, seeks to utilize this taxpayer supported court in order to thwart the lawful collection efforts of the Internal Revenue Service.
Personally, I'd stain my undies if Hovind actually ever used sound logic.

Well, maybe he's trying too hard. If his stuff really is god's property, then I'm sure god will step in and save Hovind from any serious punishment. Right? He shouldn't worry. Let go and let god.

Uugh, that was too much personal info on Hovind. I'm off to take a hot shower.

Maybe because you know the contents of the video.

*wonders what your chances of getting those are if you "suggest" donating less*

I wonder, does Mr Hovind Additionally require that the IRS prove:

1. Time, space, and matter became taxable by themselves.
2. Planets, stars and the taxation department formed from space dust.
3. Matter created tax by itself.
4. Early life-forms learned to demand tax themselves.
5. Major changes occurred between these diverse life forms (i.e., fish changed to amphibians, amphibians changed to reptiles, and reptiles changed into IRS accountants).

The evidence that the IRS supplies must first be approved by Hovind himself, and then evaluated by a panel of experts chosen by Hovind. If the evidence passes these fair and impartial tests, then Mr Hovind will give the IRS $250 000 plus his own testicles on a plate.

Wonderful! Just for this:

...this post deserves an A. Bravo! <img src="graemlins/notworthy.gif" border="0" alt="[Not Worthy]" />
